Hotel History

Park Hyatt Goa Resort and Spa completes over a decade of authentic hospitality.  It is the first Park Hyatt to open in India, and over the years, the resort has been the recipient of a host of prestigious awards and accolades.

Designed by famed resort architect Simeon Halstead from Spain, and landscape designer Peter Imrik of Napa, California, Park Hyatt Goa blends vibrant elegance with high drama to recreate the cheerful and relaxed atmosphere of a small Goan village.

Spread over 45 acres, the resort resembles a lively picturesque township, full of fragrant plant filled courtyards and gardens, linked by Venice style canals, bridges and cobbled streets. The frontage of the hotel is a huge patio, which leads into an intimate lobby area, resembling the scale and character of a grand old Goan House. Overlooking the lobby is an instant picture of a more leisurely life with its views of shimmering waterways and the sea.

The unique features of the resort are its Indo-Portuguese style villas – Pousadas comprising of 250 guest rooms. These Pousadas are divided into 5 courtyards; each distinctive in theme, architecture and landscape, creating a series of individual guestroom clusters within the resort. The Pousadas are set apart from each other by lagoons, tropical gardens and bridges and interconnected with cobbled village streets.

The resort is anchored by two main areas – Village Square and Lobby Plaza, each characteristically different from the other. Set around the courtyard of Village Square, are the resort’s restaurants and bars, showcasing a unique range of dining experiences, with indoor and outdoor seating options. Animated like a town’s market place, Village Square comprises of Village Cafe, Casa Sarita - a signature fine-dining Goan restaurant, Da Luigi, Masala, Praia de Luz and Poolside Bar. Palms, a beach side restaurant overlooks the pristine Arossim Beach.

The Lobby Plaza is quieter and more formal in comparison – it doubles as a grand outdoor pre-function area for the adjacent ballrooms, which allegorically is the ‘Town Hall’ of this resort and in turn, the Lobby is the ‘Mayor’s House’.

The resort also offers a dedicated area for children – Camp Hyatt and one of India's largest swimming pools. Situated on the quite north end and spread over 36,000 sq. ft. is Sereno Spa, a wellness sanctuary, designed to provide a holistic experience inspired by Ayurvedic and yogic traditions.

Park Hyatt Goa Resort and Spa with attention to detail, tropical design integrity, picturesque landscaping and careful composition of the architecture blended into the landscape, has been designed as the ultimate resort hotel  - truly an eco-sensitive, completely relaxing and uniquely Goan experience!
