Meet our concierge team leader – Sameeullah Hodekar, also known as Samee. Samee is a travel enthusiast and loves to create unique itineraries for our guests. Being an ardent nature lover, he is very good at curating exciting trips that helps all our guests capture the true beauty of Goa including the nature and its historic importance based on our guests preferences.  

What's the most important thing you learned about travel?

I think the most important thing I have learned about travel is to explore and appreciate local culture, to really behave like a local while traveling to new places. Also being a concierge I do understand that the unique experiences and lesser known local facts that we are able to share with our guests so a long way in making their holiday a more memorable experience for them. Over the years, travel has become more than accommodation and food , and it involves the unexpected and unexplored experiences.

What is your favorite local activity that you recommend to guests?
 
My personal favourite is the excursion to the cashew farm and spice plantation. The trip includes cashew fruit picking, fruit stomping, feni distillation process followed by a home style traditional goan lunch and a trip to the cashew factory to understand the interesting process of the cashew nut being made ready to eat.

What would be your ideal day when on a holiday? 
I would love to holiday on a beach resort like ours where there is so much to do for the family as well. My perfect day would be a walk on the beach in the morning with a yoga session followed by a hearty Goan breakfast. I would love to spend the rest of the day lying by the pool. A family dinner at Palms with the sound of the waves will be the ultimate treat for my family on a holiday.

What have guests been asking about lately? What kind of experiences are they looking for?
Off lately we have been offering for our guests various innovative experiences like crab catching and sailing, a trip to the cashew farm and spice plantation excursion, spiritual sojourn with a tour of the old Goan churches and other gourmet experiences like making a goan meal with our chefs, visiting an old portugese house for a traditional portugese afternoon tea and more.

If you could learn to create one dish at the hotel restaurant, what would it be?
Without a doubt this would be the chicken cafreal dome which is a contemporary twist by Chef Edridge Vaz to the traditional Goan favorite – Chicken Cafreal.

What is your favorite area at the resort?
Palms – our beach front restaurant with the special Sunriser and Sundowner offers is my most favourite place in the resort.

Is there an interesting fact about your hotel that many people don't know?
All the rooms and suites in our hotel have magnificent views either of the pool, the lagoons or the sea which is not available at most hotels.

Tell us about a rare and unique experience you have curated for guests in your location?
This will be the Cashew Farm excursion that includes a trip to the cashew farm with fruit picking and feni distillation process;  cashew factory visit and traditional Goan lunch at the spice plantation.
